3 ways to have multiple links in your instagram bio

This page includes affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, I may earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you.

Many things about Instagram are annoying, but not being able to add clickable links in your captions is high up on the list. In fact, for the average Instagram user the only place you are allowed a clickable link in your bio. Links can also be included in the swipe up feature on Instagram Stories (for those who have over 10,000 followers).

This means that if you want to drive people somewhere in your caption you have to tell people to check out your link in bio. That might sound fairly simple, but what if you, like me, want to send people to different places? Maybe one post highlights your recent blog, the next post references an affiliate product and another post mentions your latest launch.

You could change the link every time you publish a new post and ensure it is relevant to the latest post, but what if someone clicks on a post from last week, reads the caption, visits your link and then realises this doesn’t lead them to what you have mentioned. I’m sure you can agree it isn’t a great experience, which is why many people have tried to work out how to have multiple link in your Instagram bio.

Technically, none of these solutions actually allow you to have more than one link in your Instagram bio, but they do allow your audience to easily access multiple links.

Linktr.ee

One of the most popular link in bio services is Linktr.ee. Linktr.ee makes it really easy for you to create a stand-alone webpage that has multiple links. There is a basic version, which is free, as well as a pro version that costs $6 per month.

Here is an example of what mine looks like.

Charelle's example of Linktree

Your Linktree URL will directly correlate with your Instagram handle. For example, my handle is @charellegriffith and my Linktree URL is https://linktr.ee/charellegriffith

Linktree makes it very easy for you to set up your page. Your picture and handle are pulled directly from Instagram and then you just have to set up the buttons. For each button, you fill in the title and URL. Each button can easily be turned on and off by clicking just one button. It is also very easy to change the order of the buttons.

The basic version offers 9 different themes for your page and by upgrading to pro you are able to customise your page even more.

Create a page on your own website to host multiple links

Whilst Linktr.ee is great there are issues with it. You are not in control (and Linktr.ee servers have been known to go down), you are limited with customisation and it skews your stats as people who click on Linktree and then visit your site as classed coming via referral rather than social media.

With all this in mind, some people have decided to follow the linktr.ee model, but create a page on their own website to house all of their links. This most commonly will be URL/Links or URL/Instagram.

The key thing to remember when making your own page is that you need to ensure it is mobile friendly. The majority of Instagram use takes place on a mobile so you need to ensure a great experience for mobile users.

Use Linkin.bio by Later

Later is my favourite Instagram scheduling tool (You can find out more about why I love it so much here). One of the features they offer is called Linkin.bio. A lite version is available for those on the Free or Plus accounts and then there is a standard version for those on a Premium, Started or Brand account.

Unlike the first two options that result in you having a page with links, linkin.bio is a personalised landing page that is a replica of your Instagram feed. People can then click on the pictures and each picture can have a different link.

Having a direct replica of your Instagram makes it easy for people to find the same picture as before and then click on the link. It also means that months and months down the line people can still find the suitable link, although it might involve some scrolling.

There you have it. You now know how you can have multiple links in your Instagram bio.

I hope you have found this post helpful and with the ability to add more links into your bio you are able to drive more traffic exactly where you want it to go.
