2025 REVIEW OF THE UK BUSINESS AND MARKETING EVENTS I ATTENDED

DigitalWomen Live – Digital Upskilling Festival (March 2025)

The first event I went to in 2025 was the DigitalWomen Live: Digital Upskilling Festival. This took place in Birmingham and the Millennium Point Curzon. I’ve been a member of DigitalWomen for a number of years, have won a few of their awards and this was the second time they’d run an event in Birmingham.

This event consisted of lots of short, 30-minute, sessions mainly from other members of the DigitalWomen community. There were sessions on AI, strategy, brand, finance, social media, thought leadership and storytelling.

My favourite sessions of the day were VISION Velocity: Strategic Agility for Marketing Excellence by Professional Laura Chamberlain and How to Build Your Personal & Business Networks for Success.

Will I go again and who would I recommend it for?

Being super honest, I didn’t find the 2025 version as good as the equivalent event in 2024. Right now, the 2026 lineup of speakers hasn’t been announced so I’d wait to see who was talking before buying a ticket.

DigitalWomen is a community of women in digital working as entrepreneurs and employees. This event was a great opportunity to connect more with people in the community and for those earlier on in their digital career it would be valuable.

SocialDay’s Social Media Fest (May 2025)

You can check out a more detailed review of my experience here, but here’s the short version.

SocialDay’s Social Media Fest is a 3-day social media and influencer festival that’s always held in London. In 2025 it was held at Phantom Peak, which was a very cool location.

It was three days that were jam-packed with sessions from social media platforms, people working at businesses small and large, people working at for-profit and not-for-profit, people working in-house and agency side.

There even was a few sessions specifically for B2B marketers, that was hosted by Luan Wise and Andy Lambert.

For this event, I had a marketer hat one and I fully committed to going to as many sessions as possible and learning as much as I could so it definitely was a valuable experience.

Will I go again and who would I recommend it for??

As I generalist marketer, I usually go to one platform/channel specific type of marketing event each year. In 2024 it was BrightonSEO, in 2025 it was SocialMedia Fest 2025. Next year I’m thinking I’ll go to something that is email marketing focused.

I would recommend SocialMedia Fest to anyone working in social media. I can especially see the value if you are a freelancer or the social media expert in a marketing team that the opportunity to learn from the speakers and connect with other social media experts would be especially valuable.

Atomicon (June 2025)

My experience

On Monday 9th June 2025 I headed to Newcastle to attend Atomicon for the third year in a row. Atomicon claims to be ‘The world’s most epic-est sales and marketing conference to skyrocket your small business’. This year there was no doubt it had even more attendees. There was a full schedule, with multiple talks happening at the same time, and as always I threw myself into it.

On the Monday I took part in the Mass TikTok dancing, before heading to the officially pre-party where you are encouraged to wear a jazzy shirt.

Then on Tuesday, the conference day, it is a full schedule. I went to talks by Laura Belgray, Carrie Greene, Suman Randhawa, Grace Andrews, Robin Waite, Rory Sutherland and Geoff Ram. And the topics discussed included marketing, email marketing, sales, content, creating multi-six figures and building a successful business. My favourite speaker was Rory Sutherland who I had seen at BrightonSEO in 2024 and loved.

And the added bonus about Atomicon is that everything is recorded and can be accessed after so if you loved something you can watch it again and if there were two talks on at the same time you can go to one and watch the other after.

Will I go again and who would I recommend it for?

Atomicon tickets go on the sale at the end of the event, so it will come as no surprise that I instantly got my ticket. However, a number of people who usually go and I enjoy spending time with aren’t going this year, so I am going to have a proper think about if I will actually go before the refund deadline.

Atomicon really is valuable to business owners at different stages in their journey for different reasons. There is no denying it is one of the biggest small business events in the country so from a networking perspective, it is fairly unmatched. Session wise there is a variety of topics so you should be able to find something that supports your current business needs.

Nottingham Digital Summit (September 2025)

My experience

In September I headed to the Nottingham Digital Marketing Summit for the first time. I am based in Nottingham and so it was an event I have been aware of for a few years. Usually it happens closer to my birthday, but the dates changed this year so I thought I’d give it a go.

It took place at a lovely independent cinema called the Broadway and multiple talks took place at the same time. They had talks around paid, Ai, strategy, content, data and marketing But the talks were short (just 20 minutes).

As a local event, I didn’t have massively high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the number of attendees and the quality of the speakers.

It was a full-on day with rushing around from screen to screen, and there were times where I didn’t get into the room and wanted. A major downside of the Nottingham Digital Summit is that talks aren’t recorded to be watched afterwards.

Will I go again and who would I recommend it for?

I absolutely would go again and it is a good option for marketers. There was a mixture of speakers working agency side, big business, small business etc so there really is something for everyone to gain value from.

Small and Mighty Live (October 2025)

My experience

In October I spoke at the first Small & Mighty LIVE. Hosted by Small Business Britain, I was delighted to be invited to speak at this event alongside Ian Phillips (Xero), Mike Soutar, Gary Lee, James Adam, Charlotte Wise and Fiona Minett. The talks covered PR, SEO, Marketing, Customer Journey, Strategy and Finances.

You can check out the full review of my experience here.

Will I go again and who would I recommend it for?

This was the first Small & Mighty LIVE and so far there hasn’t been an announcement about another. I would recommend this event to solo and micro business owners who are looking for a day that’s inspirational, opportunity for connection and some learning. Compared to the other events this had the smallest number of talks, but the day as a whole was a lovely experience.

2026 Visionary CEO Planning Day LIVE (November 2025)

My final event of 2026 was very special event as it was my own. In November 2024 I ran the very first Visionary CEO Planning Day LIVE to help business owners plan for 2025 and after such positive feedback I decided to do it again to help business owners plan for 2026.

The 2026 Visionary CEO Planning Day was an intimate group planning day, where I talk business owners through my annual planning framework so they can think big, set goals and then create a roadmap for the 12-months ahead.

Will I go again and who I recommend it for?

At the moment I don’t have plans for any more in-person versions, but I am running a online version on Monday 12th January (with a replay sent out and planning support all week). For all the information and to book click here.

This the perfect planning event for service-based solopreneurs or micro business owners with a few members of staff, that want to grow their business in a strategic, manageable way.

That’s it. You now know about my 2025 experience of attending UK Business and Marketing events.

Going to live events will always be part of my ongoing development and training as a business owner and marketer. And now there is the added benefit of me watching more speakers and seeing what I do and don’t like whilst working on my own speaker journey.

Did you go to any great events in 2025? Already booked for a great UK Business or Marketing events in 2026. Share in the comments.

Want to take your business to the next level?

If you are looking to attend events, then I’m going to assume you also want to grow your business.

Getting in the room and learning new things is great. But working out what to follow, what to ignore and then actually implementing is key.

Nothing beats working one-to-one with a mentor, which is why each year I work with a small number of ambitious business owners.
