ATOMICON 2026: REVIEW AND TAKEAWAYS
Day 0: Pre-Events
The LinkedIn Relationship to Revenue Blueprint by Gus Bhandal
Within 30 minutes of arriving into Newcastle I was straight into action. My first session was The LinkedIn Relationship to Revenue Blueprint by Gus Bhandal. Having been a LinkedIn Top Voice in 2024 and 2025 I do know a fair bit about LinkedIn, but it is a platform that is constantly changing and given that Gus is not only a LinkedIn trainer, but one of the organisers behind the LinkedIn-focused conference Uplift, I knew I would be in good hands. For a 90-minute session it was jam-packed. Gus spoke about your profile, DMing, curating an audience, creating content and how to valuably engage. At the end, he left everyone with a 12-minute-a-day strategy (so if you do that 5 days a week, it takes an hour) for everyone to try.
Personally, something that stuck with me is Gus’ approach to curating your audience. He shared his approache which was to have a mixture of people from your horizontal axis (clients) and vertical axis (people who your ideal client also works with) and it’s something I’ll definitely be using going forward.
Pre-Party (Jazzy Shirt)
Whilst there are lots of pre-events (pre-pre party on the Sunday night and community mixers on the Monday afternoon/evening) the main pre-event is the pre-party (Jazzy Shirt) on the Monday evening. The jazzy shirt is optional and this year I decided to not follow the dress code and go for a yellow sequin dress instead.
The Pre-Party was a great opportunity to talk to people new and old. And this year I did something different speed networking. I really enjoyed the opportunity to get to talk to around 10 business owners in a short period of time and thought the idea was great for first time attendees, as well as returning attendees like myself.
Day 1: The Real Event
Takeaways from the sessions I attended
The Business Of Building An Unignorable Brand – Jamie Laing
Jamie Laing is most commonly known for being in Made in Chelsea, but is a serial entrepreneur. In this interview ,he shared his journey of creating and building multiple companies.
Biggest takeaway: Have a BHAG (big, hair, audacious goal), the right business partner can make all the difference and be playful.
Work Scared Until You’re Scary by Shawn Kanungo
I had never heard of Shawn Kanungo before seeing him on the Atomicon line up and when I saw he’d be talking about AI I wasn’t overly interested. However, Shawn is a fantastic public speaker, delivered a great talk and truly did get me thinking.
Biggest takeaway: Use AI for everything it is great at, and then for everything else be incredibly human.
Buyer Psychology: How To Actually Convert In The DMs – Richard Moore
Richard Moore is someone I have known for a number of years. I had been to one of his events or seen him talk back in 2018/19, but hadn’t seen him since so was exciting when I saw he was speaking at Atomicon. I got a front row seat and was not disappointed.
Richard shared his Doctor Method (Authority, Compliance, Prescription) and used that to show we should be using LinkedIn DMs to convert sales.
Biggest takeaway: Look for signals, be human and ensure you are leading the conversation.

The implementation gap – why consistency is a pointless goal, and the execution method that actually matters – Alice Benham
When I saw Alice’s name on the list of speakers I was excited to get the opportunity to see Alice speak. I’ve been aware of Alice many years, having originally come across her when doing competitor research. Given our work and content has similarities I was sure it would be a talk I would enjoy watching even if I didn’t learn loads.
Alice delivered a fantastic talk based around two truths.. The first truth was that being consistency is essential and second trurth was that being inconsistency is inevitable. Then Alice shared 4 areas to focus on to increase consistency.
Biggest takeaway: It’s inevitable that you are going to fall off the bandwagon so stop focusing on how consistent you are and focus on your bounce back rate.
Own The Stage: The Power of Showing Up Loud – Dani Wallace, Natasha Hamilton and Tamu Thomas
As someone who loves being a speaker and trainer I was really excited for this panel discussion. I’ve seen both Dani Wallace and Tamu Thomas speak on stage and both are wonderful. The discussion explored giving a TedX talk, being authentic, finding your voice and story, and what speaking can do for your career and business.
Biggest takeaway: Own your knowledge and story, and get yourself out there.
3 Specific Things To Do Right Now To Prepare Your Business For A Seven-Figure Exit In The Next Year – Timothy Armoo
I was really excited for this session as it’s rare I go to conferences or events and the conversations are on exiting. Timothy went through the 3 most common questions he’s asked in relation to exiting, when is the best time to sell and the key areas you need to ensure are in top shape if you want to sell.
Biggest takeaway: There are numerous reasons people buy businesses and whilst exiting might not be something you’ve thought of before they are reasons to look into it.

Inbound Leads – How To Create Uncopyable Brand Positioning And Persuade The World To Buy Into You – Jo Bird
Having met Jo at Sophie Lee’s book launch earlier in the year, I was excited to see Jo speak. I did not expect within minutes of opening to be presented with screenshots from Hinge, but let’s just say it got me laughing and hooked.
Jo talks about how your business needs to be distinct and familiar. Then she shared her brand positioning matrix and shared why it’s so important to get clear on your core belief and character. And how once you have your core belief and character it will make content easier to create and ensure you stand out from your competitors.
Biggest takeaway: The importance of having a core belief and defining the character of your business.

The Slowment Revolution: Strategic Patience In An Instant-Results World – Ann Hadley
When I saw Ann Hadley was the closing keynote for Atomicon 2026 I was really excited. Ann is a highly regarded marketer and someone I never thought I’d get to see speak in the UK. In this talk, Ann talked about cow energy and sloth energy and how in a world where now everything is predominately cow energy (speed, efficiency) there are times when you need to embrace your sloth energy. Biggest takeaway: When does fast save us – and when does fast steal from us?
Review of Atomicon 2026
This was my fourth year at Atomicon (You can check out my reviews here – Review of 2025 / Review of 2024 / Review of 2023). Atomicon is marketed as one of Europe’s largest conferences and definitely compared to most of the conferences I go to in England it is big – and that is valuable to me.
Whilst this blog post focuses on the sessions I went to and learnt, the fact is ALL of the sessions are recorded so you can catch up afterwards. There are a number of talks I’ve already highlighted to go back to and watch (when at my desk and can implement straight away).
But Atomicon is about more than just the sessions. It’s a huge event that means I get to see lots of other business owners that I usually talk to online in person. And it also means I get to meet lots of new people. Whilst Atomicon is a business conference it is not a suited, stiff conference. It’s a conference full of fun, colour and lots of friendly people (whether that be the speakers, the exhibitors or other attendees).
From the combinations of talks I went to I came away with an overarching idea, which was use technology (including AI) to do the things that should be fast, efficient etc as best as possible, but for everything else really be human. Lean into what humans can do that computers can’t do. And to receive that message whilst at an in-person event it really hit home about there are something technology will never replace.
That’s it! You’ve heard my review and biggest takeaways from Atomicon 2026.
